To continue delivering on our commitment to enhanced color performance and improved sustainability, we are announcing a transition for several legacy HID FARGO ribbons for DTC printers.
HID FARGO Ribbon Transition for DTC Printers:
Select color ribbons for the FARGO DTC1250e, DTC1500, and DTC4500e printers are moving toward their End-of-Life (EOL) phase. While these legacy consumables have served the industry well, they are being replaced by next-generation color ribbons designed to offer exceptional results and support modern eco-friendly initiatives.
Affected Consumables
Legacy YMCKO, YMCKOK, YMCKK, and YMCKO Half Panel ribbons for the following printer models will be discontinued in March 2026. Customers with these printers should not expect any disruption in ID card printing regardless of whether you continue to use existing inventory of legacy ribbons or in switching over the newest versions of these consumables:
Note: After March 31, 2026, or once existing inventory is depleted, these legacy ribbons will no longer be available for purchase. The DTC4250e does not have new ribbons and this series is slated for discontinuation in 2026.
