Fargo ID card printers require specialized HID Global Fargo ID printer ribbons in order to function properly. To maximize printed ID card quality and ID card printer durability, use only genuine Fargo ID printer ribbons.

*HID Global will be upgrading the RFID communication technology utilized by some Fargo ID card printer ribbons and overlaminate consumables, beginning in October 2013. After HID implements this new technology, most ID card printers and laminators manufactured before mid-2010 will require a firmware update to ensure compatibility with the new consumables technology.
