New versions of software driver and printer firmware combine to increase sharpness, improve color balance and color tone scale, enhancing the appearance of text, graphics and photos. At the same time, print speed is increased up to 25% in the majority of color printing applications (Up to 25% reduction in printing time from an application, including data download time. Speed increase is due to reduction of download time).
By default, both user and admin printing rights are enabled at installation time.
All Zebra P330i and P430i printers with following serial numbers P330020000, P330G11000 and P430007000, manufactured after June 7, 2007 will contain this new firmware/software combination.
Recommended action
The Zebra P330i and P430i ID card printer new driver and firmware upgrade is highly recommended for all users, except for those who have previously adjusted their images to meet specific requirements and do not wish to re-adjust for the new color range. Both new driver and firmware must be upgraded for correct operation. In limited cases, the new driver and firmware upgrade may result in darker prints. If darker prints are produced, it may be necessary to change the print head resistance in order to adjust the printed image color intensity to meet the user’s preference. Change the print head resistance only after installing the new driver and firmware. For best results, both the firmware and driver must be upgraded at the same time and the firmware should be upgraded before the driver.
