The most popular programming for RFID cards is 26 bit, Format H10301. You will need to provide us with the Facility Code and Start # which you can send by email after placing your order. We cannot process any order without these details.

If you would like to test a sample card first, (1) complete your online order, (2) request a sample and (3) we will send it to you for your approval before processing your entire order. Click on the following document for more details with a Helpful Guide To HID Credential Programming.

Cards do not expire however they should be stored in a dark temperature controlled environment with no exposure to UV light to protect the printable surface.

They can sit on the shelf indefinitely as RFID cards do not expire.

In most cases RFID cards come pre-programmed and are ready to be read by your access control equipment. Depending on the technology embedded in your cards, you may be able to encode a number using a programmer or other custom solution. Most RFID cards come with a number preprogrammed on the chip from the factory with the matching numbering printed on card so that you can enroll them in your physical access control system.

The industry standard thickness for ISO cards used in most card printers is 30 mil. This is the same size and thickness as a typical credit card. Some models are able to print thinner cards down to 10 mil, or thicker cards up to 50 mil but 30 mil is the standard so these cards will produce the best results and give the least amount of issues.

Clamshell cards are an older style RFID or prox card that is not designed for direct printing by any card printer. Most clients with these legacy systems use our adhesive backed cards with the same glossy printable surface as an ISO card so they can print a high quality image with their ID printer.

Low frequency RFID cards, typically known as prox cards, use 125Khz to communicate the embedded card number. High frequency RFID cards, typically known as contactless smart cards, use 13.56Mhz to communicate the encrypted card number inside. The most common types of RFID cards in the security industry are HID Prox and iClass SEOS.

More Security: Seos data and privacy protection create a more secure environment than other RFID technologies with best-in-class cryptography.

More Mobility & Applications: Seos gives you options! Its software base allows you to open doors with mobile devices, smart cards, tags, and more!

Most access control systems can use an upgraded RFID reader that has bluetooth capabilities. These can read a Mobile ID credential from a smartphone app that communicates via the NFC chip. There are pro’s and con’s to the newer technology so many organizations still use physical badges with prox, iClass, Mifare and Seos programming.

In most cases we are able to get new orders for programmed RFID badges shipped out in about 48 hours. These are shipped out daily all over the country and typically arrive within a week of placing your order.

As of Q2 2023, we are excited to offer HID Eco Seos Bamboo Cards which can be purchased with the same programming as regular PVC or composite badges. If you use 5006PGGMN cards or another Seos only credential, our new Seos Bamboo credentials are a great option to help reduce pollution to our planet.
