The Enhanced Fargo HDP5000 high-definition dual-sided ID card printer and Factory Installed Dual Card Input Hopper & Printer Security Locks now makes high-definition ID card printing available for applications that use two different types of cards. High-definition printing produces superior print qualities in ID cards, even on those with embedded electronics, resulting in more impressive and professional looking ID cards. Producing 51 full color, dual-sided ID cards per hour, and featuring an easy-to-read SmartScreen LCD panel, the HDP5000 produces high quality cards, from an easy-to-manage printer.
The enhanced HDP5000’s new more durable transfer film means a lower cost per card for you as additional overlaminates are less likely to be needed!
Simple operation requires only minimal training, and cards, ribbons, and overlaminates come in cartridges that load in a snap. Fargo printer ribbons include cleaning rollers with them, so every time you load a new ribbon, you’ll be performing printer maintenance! HDP films provide an extra durability and protection to cards, protecting them from everyday wear-and-tear, and cards made with HDP films are highly tamper-evident, as any attempts at peeling apart the layers of a card, will ultimately result in its image being destroyed.
The versatile modular design of the HDP5000 changes with your needs, and can easily be upgraded to perform single, or dual-sided lamination ID card printing with the HDP5000 LC as well as card encoding technologies. Includes built-in Ethernet connectivity, and backed by a lifetime printhead warranty, and 3-year warranty on the entire printer.

Reviewing On-Call Express services:
WHEN TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND THE FSP/ASP ARE UNABLE TO RESOLVE A PRINTER ISSUE OVER THE PHONE AND DETERMINE THAT THE PRINTER SHOULD BE RETURNED TO HID GLOBAL FOR SERVICE, A LOANER UNIT MAY BE SHIPPED TO THE CUSTOMER VIA THE CUSTOMER’S FSP/ASP.
When a request is received by 3:00 PM (Central Time), a loaner unit will be shipped that same day via overnight delivery. Upon receipt of the defective unit, HID depot repair cleans, repairs, tests and returns the same unit to the customer. All repaired printers are shipped via UPS ground.
Repaired printers will include a Pre-Paid Federal Express label. The FSP/ASP/End User affixes this return label to the outside of the loaner box for return shipment. If you do not receive a return label please contact Technical Support, they can also issue a call tag.
On-Call-Express services are available to FSP/ASP’s only. HID Global will not ship an On- Call-Express printer to an end-user without the involvement of an FSP/ASP (certain exceptions may apply).
Reviewing On-Call Express Terms:
Effective August 1, 2009, HID made the following process changes to the On-Call Express program for FARGO printers:
Before HID ships a loaner printer, the FSP/ASP will need to send in a purchase order referencing the RMA # of the loaner unit. If the FSP/ASP does not have payment terms set up with HID, the FSP/ASP will need to provide a valid credit card number.
If the loaner printer is not returned within 30 days of HID’s requested return date, HID will invoice the FSP/ASP’s company or bill their credit card for the value of the loaner printer, less their standard printer discount. A courtesy notification will be sent out prior to any billing. Please note that no charges are incurred as long as the loaner printer is returned to HID within the requested date.
HID Global pays all shipping charges on On-Call-Express printers. The FSP/ASP or the end user pays to ship the repair printer to HID Global. HID Global covers the return shipping of the repaired printer and ships the printer via UPS ground.
