light-weight construction, built-in Ethernet connectivity, single-sided

needs of tomorrow.
Product Features
- High-definition retransfer printing (HDP)
Fargo
HDP printers use retransfer technology. Retransfer (also known as
“reverse transfer”) is a card printing method that produces rich,
vibrant, saturated color on cards. Direct-to-card printers print images
directly onto the surface of the card which can affect image quality and
even cause printhead damage if you are using cards that have smart
chips or embedded antennas and circuits. In contrast, retransfer
printers print images on retransfer film that is then fused to your card
via heat and pressure, producing flawless printing on any surface.HDP
retransfer film provides an additional benefit of adding durability and
protection to your cards. It acts as a buffer from everyday wear and
tear. Plus it’s highly tamper-evident; if a counterfeiter attempts to
peel apart the layers, the image will be destroyed. - Intuitive user-interface
The Fargo HDP5000 single-side card printer with lamination provides
easy-to-understand status messages and instructions via its SmartScreen
LCD panel with multiple language options. - Built-in Ethernet connectivity
Your card issuance application does not have to be limited to a
stand-alone badging station. Operate your card printing and encoding
application safely and seamlessly on a single printer or over your
network with the HDP5000 single-sided printer’s built-in USB and
Ethernet connectivity and internal print server. - Easy-to-use secure supplies
You will save money in training costs because the HDP5000 single-sided
printer is easy to operate and maintain. Cards, ribbons and lamination
are cartridge-based, allowing for snap-in replacement and elimination of
torn, wasted materials. Printer cleaning is just as worry-free. Fargo
includes a new cleaning roller with each ribbon purchase, making it easy
to replace the roller each time you load a new ribbon. For added data
security, the Fargo HDP5000 89620 offers AES256 data encryption and
resin ribbon erase.
The HDP5000 can easily be upgraded to single or dual-sided lamination and card encoding technologies, and simple operation requires only minimal training with ID cards, ID printer ribbons, and ID overlaminates packaged in cartridges that are easily loaded.
High definition ID card printing creates a superior print quality, even on plastic cards with embedded electronics, resulting in a more impressive card face, and affordable pricing makes high definition printing available to card printer buyers everywhere. The high reliability and durability of the HDP5000 will lower your total cost of ownership. Backed by a lifetime printhead warranty and three-year warranty on the entire printer.

On-Call Express for the second year of the factory warranty is available for an additional fee. No On-Call Express service is available for the third year of warranty. No Extended Warranties are available.

* HID technical support determines all product failures.
Reviewing On-Call Express services:
WHEN TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND THE FSP/ASP ARE UNABLE TO RESOLVE A PRINTER ISSUE OVER THE PHONE AND DETERMINE THAT THE PRINTER SHOULD BE RETURNED TO HID GLOBAL FOR SERVICE, A LOANER UNIT MAY BE SHIPPED TO THE CUSTOMER VIA THE CUSTOMER’S FSP/ASP.
When a request is received by 3:00 PM (Central Time), a loaner unit will be shipped that same day via overnight delivery. Upon receipt of the defective unit, HID depot repair cleans, repairs, tests and returns the same unit to the customer. All repaired printers are shipped via UPS ground.
Repaired printers will include a Pre-Paid Federal Express label. The FSP/ASP/End User affixes this return label to the outside of the loaner box for return shipment. If you do not receive a return label please contact Technical Support, they can also issue a call tag.
On-Call-Express services are available to FSP/ASP’s only. HID Global will not ship an On- Call-Express printer to an end-user without the involvement of an FSP/ASP (certain exceptions may apply).
Reviewing On-Call Express Terms:
Effective August 1, 2009, HID made the following process changes to the On-Call Express program for FARGO printers:
Before HID ships a loaner printer, the FSP/ASP will need to send in a purchase order referencing the RMA # of the loaner unit. If the FSP/ASP does not have payment terms set up with HID, the FSP/ASP will need to provide a valid credit card number.
If the loaner printer is not returned within 30 days of HID’s requested return date, HID will invoice the FSP/ASP’s company or bill their credit card for the value of the loaner printer, less their standard printer discount. A courtesy notification will be sent out prior to any billing. Please note that no charges are incurred as long as the loaner printer is returned to HID within the requested date.
HID Global pays all shipping charges on On-Call-Express printers. The FSP/ASP or the end user pays to ship the repair printer to HID Global. HID Global covers the return shipping of the repaired printer and ships the printer via UPS ground.
